Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land trailer goes on safari

A trailer for Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land shows off some of the game's new features as well as many returning elements from the long-running franchise. As in prior Harvest Moon titles, the player is in charge of running a farm and must tend to crops as well as animals; the trailer shows the player character literally shoving cows and pigs to a doorway. Connect to a New Land adds different types of animals like alpacas, monkeys and penguins that can only be found by journeying to faraway places like the desert or frozen tundra. The trailer also demonstrates the game's character creation and customization options, and introduces some of the NPCs that, presumably, the player will be able to romance in Harvest Moon tradition. Viewers who do not speak Japanese, however, will miss...

The game stars the electricity-powered scavenger once again, who this time is working for the curator of a museum dedicated to real-life objects called Nostal-Junk. In order to help fill the museum, players must take Chibi-Robo on a photo hunt, taking pictures of objects in their real world surroundings to fill various mission requests from a colorful cast of characters. Lego The Hobbit's first trailer wants no adventure here, good morning

The first trailer for TT Games' Lego adaptation of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit films drags unlikely hero Bilbo Baggins into a blocky adventure. When Gandalf the Gray comes looking for a partner on an adventure, Bilbo initially wants no part of it, preferring to remain safe and comfortable in the Shire he calls home. However, as those who have seen the films (or read the books) know, he winds up drawn into the journey of Thorin Oakenshield and the Dwarves to retake their ancestral home under the Lonely Mountain. The trailer shows off scenes from the game, which covers the first two movies in the planned trilogy: An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug, which opened in theaters last week. Announced last month, Lego The Hobbit will be hitting Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox...

Scavenger Hunts, Crossword puzzles could come to Nintendo's StreetPass service

It's not that people don't want to take their games with them, it's that they often don't want to take their gaming devices with them. For many, the ubiquity of smartphones and the rising quality of the games you can play on them, replaces the need to take a gadget with you designed to game and only game. Sony looked to get around that issue by turning their PlayStation Vita into an on-the-go entertainment device. It has a high resolution screen, plays movies, music and can deliver games that look and feel like the sort you might play on your television. Nintendo's approach to the 3DS, and now 2DS, problem is a bit more fanciful, and to be honest, the sort of thing you want to see succeed. It's called StreetPass. StreetPass is a service that allows a person's 3DS or 2DS to talk to...

Nintendo's 3DS StreetPass Weekend will take place from Dec. 14-15, the company announced today. During this weekend, all the Nintendo Zones in North America will be put together and mixed around so that users have the opportunity to StreetPass with people from different parts of the country. The Lego Movie Videogame trailer teams up Batman and a false savior

A trailer for TT Games' game adaptation of next year's The Lego Movie features the Dark Knight teaming up with a man who isn't the savior everyone thinks he is. Emmet is an ordinary Lego minifigure who somehow becomes mistaken as "The Special," a Master Builder who will save the world from evil. He isn't, but that won't stop him from trying. The trailer is a mix of story scenes and gameplay, which resembles that in TT Games' previous Lego titles. The Lego Movie Videogame launches in February 2014.
