September 1st: “Seeking Justice: The Leo Frank Case Revisited”

This exhibit, examines anti-Semitism in America. Through a large number of artifacts, it revisits the murder case and trial that ultimately captured the attention of the nation and led to the lynching of a Jewish man in Marietta, GA in 1915.

September 8th, 2 p.m.: 17th Annual Jewish Film Festival of Dallas

Dallas premiere of the acclaimed film Besa: The Promise, Zale Auditorium, at the Aaron Family Jewish Community Center, 7900 Northaven Road in Dallas; tickets $11.00 if ordered online at jccdallas.org; $13 at the door. During WWII, Albania gave asylum to Jews fleeing the Nazis. Albanians took the sacred oath—Besa—to protect these refugees. Fast forward sixty years when one Albanian man struggles to fulfill the promise made to the Jewish family his Muslim father rescued to return three sacred prayer books left behind in his father’s care. Don’t miss this film.

October 30th: 2013 Hope for Humanity Dinner

Reception at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. Father Patrick Desbois, President of the Yahad-In Unum Association, will receive the Museum’s 2013 Hope for Humanity Award at the Fairmont Hotel. Local Holocaust Survivors will also be recognized.
