During WWII, Albania gave asylum to Jews fleeing the Nazis. Albanians took the sacred oath—Besa—to protect these refugees. Fast forward sixty years when one Albanian man struggles to fulfill the promise made to the Jewish family his Muslim father rescued to return three sacred prayer books left behind in his father’s care.
