Classic Game Remake: iRepton 9:10 PST | | Print NewsRemember Repton? Of course you do! However, for those that weren't lucky enough to cross paths with the heroic lizard back in the old days of the BBC B Micro, there's now an iPhone version of that classic puzzler in the Boulderdash tradition. iRepton was one of the fastest selling games of its era, so there's a lot to live up to!
Ordinarily, we wouldn't announce a simple iPhone remake, but having had a look at this one, it's pretty special - almost a shot-for-shot remake of the original - with updated graphics, of course. It's probably the closest you can get to having the original Repton on your iPhone, and thus worth the attention of any of you Apple-fans out there!
More information can be found at the iRepton website!

Movies That Should Have Been Great Games 19:49 PST | | Print NewsThe recently renovated Game Informer site kicked out a new feature called Movies That Should Have Been Great Games. Here's a taste: I recently took a look at the few times in gaming history in which movie-to-game translations actually worked out. It seems that more and more, motion pictures have video game tie-ins, and it's obvious the majority of them are of dubious quality. Despite the frequency of movie-to-game adaptations, there are some instances in the past where certain films seemed like they had all the makings of a fantastic game, but none were ever developed (or the ones that did get made were atrocities). Here are some of the biggest "could haves" from the last few decades:
