Medal of Honor Warfighter is an impressive multiplayer shooter with tight controls, an arsenal of weapons and modes, teamwork-promoting two-man fire teams, and an array of cool elite fighters from nations around the world. The problem is this stalwart Warfighter is also skilled in the art of shooting itself in the foot. Because I love Guild Wars 2, this is a column I don't want to write. But because I love Guild Wars 2, this is also a column I have to write. And it's long overdue. Because when Guild Wars 2 dies for me, it won't be because of dwindling activity, or a sometimes shaky ingame economy, or the resurgence of World of Warcraft. It won't be because of Borderlands 2, or because of the new content for Rift, or the awesome Diablo 3 patch. It won't be because my friends are busy playing the latest holiday releases. Cortex Command is the best-worst game I've played all year. Yes, it's been around for a while now in various stages of completion, but now it's over the 1.0 hump and on Steam for $20. On the surface it's easy to fall for its pixel-art charms, but digging into this action-sidescroller unearths terrible AI and various bugs, and while it's a much better experience in multiplayer, it suffers from an acute lack of online play.
